Since 2015 the ASHM Scholarship Program has provided a variety of scholarship opportunities to assist ASHM members, affiliates and others in the HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health healthcare sector to attend national and international conference to support their continuing professional development.
The scholarship program plays an integral role in providing our sector opportunities to attend some of the most valuable educational conferences nationally and internationally. Since 2015 the program has awarded 200 scholarships to attend conferences including CROI, EACS, APACC, IAS, HIV Glasgow (international) and the Joint HIV&AIDS and Sexual Health Conference (local).
The scholarship program offers full scholarships (flights, accommodation and registration) in addition to partial scholarships (registration only or a combination of registration and/or flights & accommodation). The criteria for each scholarship round vary and is governed by the grant received. Applications are reviewed by an external committee, with the scholarships awarded based on a score and whether the recipient has received funding within the last 2 years.
How can you be involved?
We encourage our sector partners and organisations to diarise the below application deadlines and to encourage employees to apply. The application process is simple and can be found on the ASHM scholarship page.
ASHM endeavours to provide as many scholarships as possible. The scholarship program relies heavily on support from external organisations. Should we not have a round that is applicable to your discipline, ASHM recommends investigating scholarships from other peak organisations in the sector as they may have funding or scholarships available
ASHM is continually seeking funders to contribute to the program with an aim to broaden and diversify the scope of applications. If you have grant funds remaining or would like to support the program please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
