ASHM delivers a wide range of STI education in many locations, as well as online modules and webinars. All training is endorsed by the relevant professional organisation and eligible for RACGP QI&CPD points or continuing professional development hours.
Contact tracing (also called partner notification) is essential for the public health management of STIs, by limiting onward transmission. ASHM delivers training in contact tracing and developed the Australasian Contact Tracing Manual, in hardcopy or online form, to support health professionals to undertake contact tracing.
ASHM also has an eLearning package involving 8 online modules designed for WA nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers, titled Partner Notification (Contact Tracing) eLearning Modules.
ASHM endorses the Remote Area Health Corps' online STI education for remote area health professionals.
ASHM develops a range of practical resources to support health professionals preventing, testing, diagnosing and managing STIs. There is also a series of profession-based booklets for other groups in contact with sexually transmissible infections, including HIV and viral hepatitis.
